Rate Rewrite is a product that helps properties create rates that are based on a parent rate. Rates set up this way are called child rates, and each one has a unique rate ID.
Rates can have one of three configurations:
- XML Default Rates – Connectivity partners map, update and retrieve reservations made using these rates
- XML Res Rates – properties manage these in the extranet, but Connectivity partners retrieve reservations made using them
- No XML Rates – properties manage these in the extranet, and we deliver reservations made using them to the property using notification emails
For XML Res Rates that have a rate rewrite set and No XML Rates, the related rate ID is not included in the mapping call.
Connectivity partners can’t update the rate value of an XML Res Rate child rate, because it’s derived from a parent rate.
If the Connectivity partner supports the res_extra_info feature, when a traveller makes a reservation using an XML Res Rate we’ll send this information in an XML message:
<price date="2018-06-29"
genius_rate="no"
rate_id="11993104" Parent rate ID
rewritten_from_id="11993107" "XML Res" rate ID
rewritten_from_name="Early Booker">100</price> "XML Res" rate Name
To find out more about the extra information you can receive by activating the res_extra_info feature, take a look at this article.
