‘Auto-Replenishment of Closed Rooms’ (also known as ‘Reopen Closed Rooms’) is a property-level setting accessed in the extranet. It’s active by default, but it can be deactivated on request.
When this setting is active, closed rooms are automatically replenished and set to open. When the setting is disabled, the rooms are still automatically replenished but they stay closed and do not show as available on Booking.com.
In normal circumstances, we recommend that you ask your properties to contact their local Booking.com support team if they want to deactivate this option.
Automatic replenishment and Coronavirus (COVID-19)
The Coronavirus situation has caused unprecedented levels of disruption across the travel industry. We understand that many properties have been forced to follow official advice and temporarily close.
In April, we temporarily disabled the ‘Auto-Replenishment of Closed Rooms’ feature, to help our partners remain compliant with their local regulations. From the beginning of August, we will be re-enabling this feature for all properties for whom it was previously enabled. This feature helps our partners to sell more rooms, as they can offer maximum availability without having to go into the system to update it manually, therefore it is of utmost importance that we re-enable this feature.
How does this change affect properties?
For all properties who previously had the ‘Reopen Closed Rooms’ feature enabled, the feature will be enabled again.
What if unaffected properties want to reopen their closed rooms?
If a property is still affected by Coronavirus restrictions they can opt-out of the ‘Reopen Closed Rooms’ feature on their own. They can do so by going to the calendar in the Booking.com extranet, there they find a settings button (gear box) with the menu 'Auto-replenishment' where the setting for 'Auto-replenishment of closed dates' can be changed at any time.
For information on how to open and close rooms in the extranet, your partners can read this article.
