Sometimes, properties may ask you how to access their guests’ card details, including the CVC code.
Most connected properties will receive guests’ card details and CVC codes directly through your connectivity software rather than the extranet, as this is the default setting.
However, it is possible for properties to view this information through the Booking.com extranet. For basic instructions on how to view card details in the Booking.com extranet, property partners can find more information on the Partner Help Centre.
Note that CVC codes don’t appear on the extranet by default. That’s because the retrieval of the reservation via the XML message counts as the first viewing of the CVC code, which means it won’t show up again in further checks due to legal reasons.
If a property needs to access CVC codes via the Booking.com extranet, you may change the Credit Card and CVC settings in the Provider Portal and choose one of the following options:.
- Send all information (credit card and CVC details) via XML
- Exclude CVC codes from the XML
- Display all information on the extranet (and optional email link to extranet)
In the Provider Portal select the Properties tab, then select the property you would like to change. Select “Property Settings” and you will see an option for Credit Card Data via API. You can then select how the property can receive the credit card data.
